Care & Cleaning

Zinc Alloy/Cooper

You can easily clean using household items such as:

-toothpaste (non-gel varieties).

-baking soda mixed with lemon juice into a paste.

1. Using a soft cloth, apply the paste to the jewellery piece, apply directly to the piece, you can use a soft-bristled toothbrush or similar to get into grooves, or scrub at more stubborn tarnish (please note that sometimes, if the tarnish has been left for too long, the metal will remain discoloured).

2. Rinse off using warm water and make sure there is no paste residue.

3. Towel dry it immediately. You don’t want your jewellery piece to suffer from water damage.

To ensure your zinc alloy doesn’t tarnish, make sure you keep it away from water or wet places. Also, it is very important that you keep your zinc alloy jewellery away from the air when you’re not using it. Store the jewellery pieces in airtight containers to prevent any reaction with the oxygen in the air.

Stainless Steel

You can use the methods above or an alternative is the following;

1. Pour some warm water in a small bowl, and add some mild dishwashing soap.

2. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth in the soapy water, and then gently wipe the stainless steel jewellery with the damp cloth until the piece is clean.

When cleaning it, rub the item along its polish lines.

3. Wipe the remaining soap off your jewellery using a moist cloth dipped in clean water.

4. Dry the jewellery well with a clean towel, and then leave your pieces to air dry.

After your stainless steel jewellery is clean, you can use a jewellery polish or a polishing cloth to shine it.
